How we prepare content

What this website is for

HowToLove.pl explains relationship research and its limits. The articles and exercises are educational. They do not diagnose readers or their partners and do not decide whether anyone should stay in a relationship.

Choosing sources

We prefer meta-analyses and systematic reviews, then large longitudinal studies, experiments and other well-conducted observational studies. Public health organisations provide guidance on safety. A study’s label alone does not establish its quality: its methods, sample and limitations matter.

Checking what a paper actually says

References identify authors, title, journal or institution, year and a DOI or link. We check that a link points to the stated work and that the cited finding supports the accompanying text. A single study is not treated as a final answer. We do not use lifestyle or marketing articles as scientific evidence.

What findings cannot tell us

An association is not proof of cause. Even longitudinal observations may have other explanations. Results from groups cannot predict a particular person’s behaviour. We identify the populations studied and avoid turning average differences into requirements for an individual relationship.

Examples and popular concepts

Sample sentences and exercises are original suggestions, not validated treatments. We do not assign attachment styles, personality disorders or “love languages” from a few behaviours. An unverified claim is removed or left out of publication; adding a research link would not make it established.

Dates and corrections

The publication date is separate from the date of substantive review. We update the latter when we check sources or change an interpretation, not for spelling or layout. The review dated 13 September 2026 covers the references and interpretations in this version. It is not an independent clinical review or a complete systematic search of all research.

Who is responsible for the content

The website publishes under the name HowToLove.pl. This version does not name an individual scientific reviewer or claim professional accreditation. Content can change as knowledge develops. We aim to make both evidence and uncertainty visible.

Questionnaires and privacy

The three Polish reflection sets contain original questions. They do not reproduce the ECR or PERMA-Profiler scales, use clinical thresholds or offer diagnoses. Answers stay in this browser tab’s memory and are not sent to the application server. Reloading clears them. The application adds no analytics, advertising trackers or consent banner. Hosting access logs require a separate check by the operator.
